BridgehouseLaw LLP Attorney Live-Webinar Series

Join BridgehouseLaw LLP attorney Cole Haaf on Thursday, March 20th, 2025, at 10 am (EST) for a live Zoom webinar to discuss B-1 Temporary Business Visitor Visas and I-94 Arrival/Departure Records.

B-1 Visas. Many people have misconceptions about the scope of authorized travel to and in the U.S. permitted under B-1 visa status, believing the visa grants authorized entry to conduct business in the U.S. However, this is not necessarily true – B-1 visas do not grant the authority to enter the U.S. and conduct skilled or unskilled labor, which could be considered engaging in employment within the U.S. Instead, B-1 visas should be used temporarily to travel to the U.S. to engage in business transactions, meetings, trade shows, negotiations, client acquisition, etc., for the visa holder’s foreign employer.

During the webinar, Attorney Haaf will further discuss and clarify the distinctions between permissible and impermissible business activities under B-1 visa status.

I-94 Records. The I-94 Arrival/Departure Record is a document often used in different immigration applications to evidence an individual’s recent dates of entry to the U.S. and the status with which they entered the U.S. Some individuals who enter the U.S. at an authorized port of entry and receive an I-94 receive one with an incorrect entry status – for example, an E-2 visa status instead of a B-1 visa status.

Attorney Haaf will also discuss and clarify I-94 use cases and “things to look out for” related to the practice of immigration law.
