“Kai su, teknon?”
Every March 15th, the internet collectively decides to roleplay as a doomed Roman dictator, turning a 2,000-year-old assassination into a high-tier meme holiday.
The vibe is essentially “Historical Dark Academia meets Chaos,” where everyone uses Shakespeare’s “Beware the Ides of March” line to blame the universe for everything from a spilled latte to a late email. On TikTok and X, you’ll see a flood of dramatic lip-syncs, “et tu, Brute?” jokes about minor betrayals by friends, and aesthetic edits of marble statues bleeding red glitter. It’s basically the one day a year where “the girls, the guys, and the non-binary pals” get to be unhinged about ancient history while warning their followers to watch their backs.
Ultimately, it’s just a giant, digital inside joke that proves humanity will never stop finding humor in a guy getting stabbed by his best friend.
