We're looking for an exceptional professional to lead the Office of the Chairman and become the operational force behind an internationally recognized attorney, entrepreneur, author, and speaker.
This is not a traditional administrative role.
This is a role for someone who wants to build, not simply support.
This role is in Charlotte, North Carolina (not remote or hybrid)
The ideal candidate would be someone who thrives with autonomy, is organized, detail-oriented, self-managed who doesn’t need constant oversight, yet knows what it takes to accomplish tasks.
The Role (Read This Carefully)
As Director, German Desk, Office of the Chairman | Executive Operations, you will work directly with Chairman Reinhard von Hennigs, supporting executive leadership, business development, and strategic initiatives across North America and Europe.
You will manage priorities, coordinate relationships, oversee executive operations, and ensure that ideas become action.

Executive Office Leadership
- Speak more German than English in a day, on the phone, in meetings, with clients, and team members (native level conversations, not AI supported)
- Manage a dynamic executive calendar and changing priorities
- Coordinate domestic and international travel
- Prepare in German language (or in English) executive briefings, reports, presentations, and meeting materials
- Draft executive correspondence and manage confidential communications in German and English
- Ensure priorities, commitments, and follow-ups are executed on time
Business Development & Relationship Management
- Support German client development and referral relationships, primarily in the German speaking DACH region), but also globally
- Coordinate networking meetings in Germany and worldwide, conferences, and follow-up activities
- Track opportunities and relationship touch points
- Assist with business development presentations and proposals
International Coordination
- Coordinate communication with international law firms, alliance members, and business organizations
- Support cross-border initiatives and leadership meetings
- Help organize conferences, executive meetings, and special projects
Executive Communications
- Support speaking engagements, publications, podcasts, seminars, and thought leadership initiatives
- Coordinate executive events and networking activities
Operational Excellence
- Create structure and organization in a fast-moving environment
- Anticipate challenges before they arise
- Handle confidential matters with absolute discretion
- Ensure projects move forward efficiently and professionally

Qualifications Required
- Professional fluency in German and English language skills are essential (AI does not help on phone calls, in meetings, do not apply without the required language skills)
- Several years supporting senior executives, founders, partners, or C-suite leaders
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication in German and English alike
- Experience managing executive calendars, travel, and competing priorities
- Strong judgment and decision-making ability
- Advanced proficiency with Apple environment, Microsoft Office 365 and modern business technology
- Native German language skills are required. This position cannot be effectively performed using AI translation tools, as client meetings, Zoom calls, networking events, and day-to-day collaboration with the German Desk are conducted entirely in German with native or near-native speakers. A deep understanding of German business culture and communication style is essential.
- This is an on-site position based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Due to the collaborative nature of the role and the frequent interaction with attorneys, clients, and the German Desk team, remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available.
Preferred
- Experience in a law firm, consulting firm, financial institution, or international business
- Experience supporting business development activities
- Familiarity with CRM systems and practice management software such as Clio
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience

A Day in the Life

You may be on zoom calls with our German offices to support global client management.
